Marrickville Laneway House

Located on Gadigal Country

This project has the vision of creating a light-filled, integrated family home in a small, dark semi-detached house in Sydney’s Inner West. A second floor was added in the back half of the house to provide new space and light whilst retaining the cottage charm of the front.​

An angled roof on timber beams is combined with high level glazing to maximise the northern sun. The master bedroom sits upstairs with a large feature window to enjoy tree views and is connected to the below living area by a beautifully crafted staircase

The living area below with kitchen and dining connects seamlessly to the outside with adjacent sliding doors removing the eastern corner of the building. Timber vertical cladding above complements the concrete exterior below.
